Robert. C Schenck EsqrDear sir
In relation to a petition for a post office in the town of Frederick Miami County.
O. permit the undersigned to say to you That we are of opinion That if said post office
is established that it will be of publick utility, as we Labor under great disadvantages
in our present condition, And we can further say That There is quite an interest taken
in the post office business in the Vicinity of Frederick insomuch That we now carry
the mail at private cost, whereas we believe it an office in Frederick would pay its way. We therefore solicit you to use your influence
to procure said post office (Said petition is herein enclosed)
March 16th 1848Yours RespectfullyJohn. FurnasJames HallJoseph Bowman<Page 2>
