To the Honorable Senate & House of Representatives of the United States.
The undersigned citizens of Washington & Athens Counties Ohio, hereby petition your
Honorable Body, for the following alteration in the mail rout between Athens in Athens
County & Harmar in Washington County, viz: vacate so much ^of^ said mail rout as lies between Federalton, & Constitution Post Offices, & establish
a new mail rout, between said offices on the Free Turnpike road, leading from the
mouth of Federal Creek in Athens County, to Bailey’s Ferry, in Washington County,
& establish the followed named Post offices on said rout, & ^appoint^ the herein after named persons, Post Masters viz: Decatur, in Decatur Township, Philip Shrader jr Post Master, Veto in North Belpre, Daniel Shaw Post Master, Glendale, in Warren Township Abisha Cole, Post Master. And also extend the mail rout between
Harmar, & Gallopolis, from Coolville, where it now intersects the first above mentioned
mail rout, to the said Constitution office.
