To the Honorable Senate & House of Representatives of the United States.
The undersigned citizens of Washington & Athens Counties Ohio, hereby petition your
honororable body for the following alteration in the mail rout, between Athens in
Athens County, to Harmar in Washington County viz: Vacate so much of said rout as
lies between Federalton & Constitution Post offices, & establish a new rout between
said offices on the “Free Turnpike road leading from the mouth of Federal creek in
Athens County to Baileys Ferry in Washington County, & establish the following Post
offices on said new rout, & appoint the persons herein after named Post masters viz:
Decatur, in Decatur Township, Philip Shrader Jr post Master. Veto in North Belpre
Daniel Shaw Post Master, & Glendale in Warren Township, Abesha Cole Post Master.
And also extend the mail rout between Harmar & Galliopolis, from Coolville, where
it now intersects the mail rout first above mentioned to the said Constitution office.
