A Bill for an act authorising the proprietors of Metropolis City in the County of Johnson to Alter the plat thereof

Sec[Section] 1 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois represented in the general assembly That James H. G. Wilcox and William M^cBean proprietors of Metropolis City in the County of Johnson be and the same are hereby authorised to: Extend and add to the front of Blocks No^s 5 and 6 in said City so much of front street as will bring the front of said Blocks in a direct line with the front of Blocks Nos. 1, 2, 3[,] & 4, agreeable to the original plat of said City Thence by a line from the South West Corner of Block No. 6 West 50° 20' North to the east side of Johnson Street which shall be the boundary line of the north side of front street

Also first street in said City is hereby laid over and permanently established 80 feet further north than the present location and the width thereof is hereby reduced ten feet the land so thrown of and the ten feet deducted from the width of first ^street^ being in all 90 feet is hereby added to the lots and Blocks on the south side of said first street “To Wit” Blocks Number 1, 2, 3, 4, 5[,] and 6, and Blocks No^s 39, & 40 the two latter Blocks being created by the above named alterations the whole to be divided by a ^line^ in the Centre making all the lots on either side of said line equal in depth from Blocks No. 1. to Blocks No. 6, thence west through Blocks No. 39, &40 as the proprietors

of said City may deem propper

Also first minor street in said City is hereby reduced in width 10 feet said 10 feet to be taken of the south side of said minor street and the land thus thrown of is hereby added to the lots on the south side of said street

By the above alterations the width of first minor street is fixed at 14 feet, the depth of lots between first minor street and first street at 80 feet The width of first street at 70 feet including side walks of 10 feet each The whole depth of Blocks between front & first streets at 140 feet from Blocks No 1 to Block No. 6 and Blocks No 39 and 40 as shall be hereafter recorded by the above named proprietors of said City

The said proprietors are hereby authorised to make the above alterations, Provided it shall be incumbent on the Said proprietors to procure the assent in writing to said alterations from the purchasers of lots in said City which together with a plat showing the Alterations and additions shall be recorded in the recorders office of Johnson County
