A Bill for an act to prevent the further sale of State Bonds except for Specific purposes
therein set forth
Sec.[Section] 1 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois Represented in the General Assembly. That no more State Bonds shall be sold for any purpose whatever except to pay the
interest on State Bonds already sold — or to redeem the Bonds already hypothecated
or to pay the freights and commission on rail road iron purchased for the use of the
State — or to pay the debts already contracted for labour done or materials furnished in
aid of the construction of the Public works of the State. And no sale for any of the aforesaid purposes shall be made for less than the par
value of the Bonds
Sec 2. All acts or parts of acts coming within the meaning and purview of this act are
hereby repealed.
