Sec.[Section] 1. Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois represented in the General Assembly, That so much of an act entitled “an act to Incorporate the town of Jacksonville, and for other purposes approved February 3rd 1840, as exemp^t^s the Corporation of the town of Jacksonville from paying a county tax on real estate, be and the same is hereby repealed.
Sec. 2. The legal voters of the Corporate limits of the town of Jacksonville, shall have the right at any annual election for town officers, to vote for or against,
continuing in force all laws and parts of laws, incorporating the town of Jacksonville. And if it shall appear that a majority of all the legal Voters are opposed to a
continuance of the act of Incorporation, then the said act of Incorporation shall
be null and void.
