Sec.[Section] 1. Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly, That the corporate authorities of the town of Princeton, in the county of Bureau, is hereby authorized to extend the time of levying a tax upon real estate within the corporate limits of the town of Princeton for the term of two years beyond the time contemplated in the first section of the act to which this is an amendment, any thing in the said first section to the contrary notwithstanding.
Approved, February 25, 1841.2
1On February 9, 1841, John Hamlin in the Senate presented the petition of citizens of Bureau County, requesting release from the payment of a certain tax. The Senate referred the bill to the Committee on Counties. In response to this petition, John Moore of the Committee on Counties introduced SB 194 in the Senate on February 13. The Senate passed the bill on February 18. The House of Representatives concurred on February 24. On February 25, the Council of Revision approved the bill and the act became law.

2The title of the act as recorded in the Laws has a slight error. The act actually amended an act the General Assembly adopted in 1839 which amended the act that established Bureau County, which the body passed in 1837.
