Ordered, That in all cases where Contractors who have taken contracts at the letting in October 1835 or since, shall fail to arrive at the terminating point of their Routes in time to connect with the depending mails, the fact shall be stated in the weekly Reports of the Assistants and the Accountant of the Post Office Department shall thereupon proceed to charge each failing Contractor with the price of a trip, in conformity with the stipulations of their contracts, without any special order of the Postmaster General.1
This Order will take effect from and after the 15th day of February next.
