Resolved, That the Governor of this State be requested to furnish this House, with a copy of a deed, to a certain piece of ground, situated in the town of Alton, heretofore donated by Mr. William Russell, of Missouri, to this State, for Penitentiary purposes.
1On December 17, 1835, Nathaniel Buckmaster introduced the resolution in the House of Representatives, and the House adopted it. On December 18, Governor Joseph Duncan forwarded a copy of the deed, which the House referred to the Committee on the Judiciary.
