Whereas, It appears from the enrolled bills on file in the Secretary’s office, that a mistake occurred in printing the act entitled
“An act to ascertain the county line between the counties of Morgan and Sangamon, approved 12th February, 1835;”2
Therefore,
Resolved by the General Assembly, That the Secretary of State cause the said act to be published with the laws of the present session of the General Assembly, and the mistake thereof corrected.3
1On February 2, 1837, William Weatherford introduced the resolution in the Senate. The Senate adopted the resolution on February 3. The same day, the House of Representatives referred the resolution to a select committee, which reported back the resolution with amendments on February 14. The House concurred in the amendments and passed the resolution as amended on February 14. The Senate concurred in the amendments of the House on February 22.

2The published version of the act erroneously established the beginning point of the survey at the southeast corner of Township 12 North, Range 8 West (in northern Macoupin County), instead of the southeast corner of Township 13 North, Range 8 West, which was the southeastern corner of Morgan County and the southwestern corner of Sangamon County.
3Despite the resolution, the corrected act does not appear in either volume of laws for the Tenth General Assembly.
