Resolved by the House of Representatives, (the Senate concurring here,) That the Secretary of State be authorized and directed to distribute among the several counties of this state, in the ratio that the laws and journals are distributed,2 all the unbound copies of the Acts of Congress now in, and that may hereafter come into the office of the Secretary of State, reserving for the use of the state five3 copies of each session.
1On July 14, 1837, William L. D. Ewing introduced the resolution in the House of Representatives. On July 17, the Senate amended the resolution and then referred it to a select committee. On July 19, the select committee reported back the bill with another amendment, which the Senate approved before adopting the resolution as amended.
