Abraham Lincoln
Know all men by these presents that we Thos S. Edwards & Elizabeth his wife, in Consideration of the Sum of Fifty Dollars to us paid by Abraham Lincoln the receipt of which is hereby Confessed, do grant bargain Sell & Convey unto the said Lincoln his heirs & assigns all the title we have in & to Lots number Six (6) and Eight (8) in Block one (1) in the Town of Springfield in the County of Sangamon in the State of Illinois.1
To Have & to Hold the said described Lots unto him the Said Lincoln his heirs & assigns forever. In testimony whereof the Said Edwards & wife have hereunto Set their hands & Seals. Dated this 24th day of March AD. 1836.

Be it Remembered that on this day Came personally before the undersigned a Justice of the Peace in & for said County Thomas S. Edwards who is personally Known by said Justice to be the Same Person whose name is Subscribed to the foregoing Deed of Conveyance & who then acknowledged that he signed said Deed & Executed & delivered the same freely for the purposes therein Expressed.
Given under my hand & Seal this 24th day of March A.D. 1836.
