Kendall's Hall

Orrin Kendall built a three-story brick building in 1850 at the corner of Sixth and Maine streets. Kendall's Hall, on the second floor, was the first public hall built in Quincy. Abraham Lincoln delivered a speech about the Kansas-Nebraska Act at Kendall's Hall in 1854. The building sustained significant damage from a fire in 1867.
