Stanwix Hall

Built in 1832 by Peter Gansevoort, Stanwix Hall was a prominent hotel in Albany, New York. It was constructed of granite, was seven stories tall, and was topped by a large and distinct dome. Located on Broadway, in the city's business district, it boasted 140 rooms as well as reading and reception rooms, a café, and a dining hall. Its proprietors and managers included Edward Purcell, Lloyd L. Britton, and C. Quackenbusch.
