Ballentine, John J.

Ballentine probably lived in Sangamon County, Illinois in 1837. In 1840, he lived in Christian County, where he was engaged in agriculture as well as manufacture and trade. In the mid-1850s, he lived in Decatur, Illinois, where he served on the city council and was a charter member of an Odd Fellows lodge. By 1860, Ballentine lived in Bement, Illinois, where he worked as a saddler.
