In 1830, Baker married Eliza Short and they lived in Sangamon County until at least 1836. They later relocated to Missouri. In 1860, the Bakers lived in Barry County, Missouri, where Henry was a farmer. The family employed a domestic servant, and Henry owned $900 worth of real estate and $1,000 worth of personal property.
