Crozier, John H.

Crozier attended public schools. He graduated from University of Tennessee in 1829. He studied law, earned admittance to the Tennessee bar, and commenced a practice in Knoxville. Crozier won election to the Tennessee House of Representatives, serving from 1837 to 1839. He won election, as a Whig, to the U.S. House of Representatives, serving from 1845 to 1849. He served alongside Abraham Lincoln during the Thirtieth Congress. After his term in Congress, Crozier returned to his law practice in Knoxville. He became affiliated with the Democratic Party in 1856.
