Davies, John P.

John P. Davies was a state government official and land agent. In 1853, Davies was employed briefly as the assistant engrossing and enrolling clerk for the Iowa General Assembly. In 1852, Abraham Lincoln received a land warrant for forty acres of land for his service in the Black Hawk War, and Davies, as a land agent for Clifton H. Moore and duly appointed legal representative of Lincoln, located the land for Lincoln in Tama County, Iowa.
