Drake, Nathan

At the outbreak of the Black Hawk War in 1832, Drake mustered into Abraham Lincoln's company of militia in Beardstown, Illinois. After the war, Drake and his family lived on a farm in Mason County, Illinois, until sometime after 1850, when his wife Rachel died. In 1852, Drake and his adult children emigrated to Winneshiek County, Iowa, where he lived for the remainder of his life.
