Harvey, Samuel A.

Samuel A. Harvey was a millwright, farmer, and real estate investor. In 1850 he lived with family in Urbana, Illinois, where he worked as a millwright. As of 1850, he also owned more than 200 acres of public land in Champaign County, Illinois. By 1860, he lived and farmed near Mahomet, Illinois, and owned more than $12,000 in real and personal property. In December 1860 he married Martha Allen, with whom he had at least three children. He relocated to Florida after the Civil War and died at his home in Fort Pierce, Florida.
