Harrison, George M.

Harrison moved to Richland Creek, Illinois, in 1822. He was a Methodist and a prominent member of the Cartwright Church. His first wife was Ms. Houston and his second was Mary A. Magredy. He had twelve children. A physician, Harrison graduated from Rush Medical College. He fought alongside Abraham Lincoln in the Black Hawk War. Harrison eventually owned about 600 acres near Pleasant Plains. In 1860, he owned $18,000 in real estate and $3,500 in personal property.
