Kerr, Joseph (WI Whig)

Joseph Kerr was a county office-holder, state legislator, and among the first settlers to Columbia County, Wisconsin. He arrived in Columbia County in 1846, settling near Randolph. In 1848 and 1849, Kerr represented Randolph and Columbia County in the Wisconsin State Assembly. He served on the Columbia County Board of Supervisors in 1850, 1851, and 1852, and won election three times to the county board. In 1851, he became a charter member and first vice-president of the Columbia County Agricultural Society. In November 1853, he won election as president of the society. Kerr was director of the LaCrosse & Milwaukee Railroad Company at the time of his death.
