Langlois was living in Kaskaskia as early as 1836, when he purchased approximately fifty acres of land in Randolph County. He served as the receiver at the Land Office in Kaskaskia, from September 1845 to January 1850. In 1850, Langlois was employed as a clerk and owned $30,000 in real property. At the time of his death, he lived in Cape Girardeau County, Missouri.
