Lincoln, James B.

Died: 1837-09-18 Hancock County, Illinois

James B. Lincoln was a first cousin of President Abraham Lincoln and middle son of Mordecai Lincoln. Around 1830, he moved with his family to Illinois, settling in Hancock County. In 1835 and 1836, he purchased approximately 360 acres of public land in areas that were to become Hancock and Fountain Green townships.
