Mahood, Alexander

Alexander Mahood was a farmer, landowner, and postmaster. Alexander and his wife Mary were living in Decatur, Illinois, as early as 1839. He served as postmaster of Decatur from February 1845 to March 1849. After his stint as postmaster, Mahood moved to Livingston County, where he became a prominent farmer in Germanville Township.
