Milton, James
Alternate name: Melton
Son of William Milton (Melton), James Milton (Melton) volunteered for service in the Mexican War, enrolling as a private in Company F, 2nd Regiment of Illinois Volunteers, on June 22, 1847. He accompanied his regiment to Mexico, but was left sick at Jalapa. Supposedly discharged, he later died due to illness contracted while in the army.
