Moses, John C.

John C. Moses was a military officer and attorney. He served as a captain of Company D in the First Regiment of the Illinois Volunteers during the Mexican War. In 1850 he lived in Brown County, Illinois and was practicing law. In July 1851 he married Eliza Ann Torrey, with whom he had at least two children. By the late-1850s, he practiced law in Urbana, Illinois, and was active in the courts of Champaign and Vermilion counties.
