Morgan, Obadiah

Morgan was an early settler in Sangamon County, Illinois, moving there prior to 1830. During the Black Hawk War, he served as a sergeant in Abraham Lincoln's company of the 4th Regiment of Mounted Volunteers. In 1833, he purchased forty acres of public land in Cass County, Illinois, where he lived until at least 1840.
