Oliver, John

Oliver was an early settler of Johnson County, Illinois. He was the county treasurer and was also a county judge. Oliver and his wife, Celia, had seven children. A Democrat, Oliver represented Johnson County in the Illinois House of Representatives for two separate terms, 1834 to 1836, and 1840 to 1842. In 1860, Oliver was a farmer with $3,000 in real property and $1,000 in personal property.
