Pantier, James

The son of one of Daniel Boone's pioneers, Pantier lived in Boone's Fort, Kentucky, for most of his childhood before moving to Ohio. He married Susanna Murphy and relocated to Illinois in 1815. He settled on a farm just north of Petersburg in 1826 and remained there until he died. In 1850, he owned $1,000 in real estate. He was a Presbyterian and reportedly a faith healer.
