Paxson, Edward M.

Paxson founded his first newspaper, the Newtown Journal, in Bucks County. In 1847, he sold the Journal and relocated to Philadelphia, where he founded the Daily News. A year later, he sold the Daily News and began studying law. In 1850, Paxson was admitted to the bar and opened an office in Philadelphia. Politically, Paxson was a Republican.
