Pollock, James (PA)

Pollock graduated from the College of New Jersey (Princeton) in 1831, studied law, and was admitted to the bar in Pennsylvania in 1833. He practiced law in Milton before being elected as a Whig to the U.S. House of Representatives, where he served from 1844 to 1849. After serving as a district judge, he was elected governor of Pennsylvania in 1854, in which capacity he served until 1858.
