Randall, Richard

Died: 1910-02-05 Lincoln, Nebraska

Son of Jonathan G. and Heathey Randall, Richard Randall in 1831 moved with his parents from Ohio to Rushville, Illinois. In 1840, Jonathan G. Randall apprenticed Richard to Simeon Francis in the Sangamo Journal printing office. After completing his apprenticeship, Richard moved back to Rushville, where in 1848 he and a partner started The Prairie Telegraph, the first permanent newspaper in Rushville that would eventually become The Rushville Times. In 1860, Randall was living in Littleton Township, Schuyler County, working as printer, with real estate valued at $400 and a personal estate of $250. Between 1860 and 1870, he moved to Henry County, Iowa. After his retirement, he moved to Lincoln, Nebraska.
