Sconce, Thomas

In 1830, Sconce moved from Kentucky to a part of Coles County, Illinois, that would later become Cumberland County. During the Black Hawk War, Sconce served as a second lieutenant. After the war, he returned to Cumberland County and served as the first sheriff of the county, from 1843 to 1848.
