Sheppard, Stephen R.

In 1830, Sheppard was living in Macon County, Illinois. He served as a second corporal in the Fifth Illinois Regiment during the Black Hawk War. In 1840, Sheppard was still living in Macon County, where he married Emily Rittenhouse, on May 18, 1849. In 1852, he served as a member of the Macon County Central Democratic Committee.
