Strohm, John

Died: 1884-09-12 Lancaster, Pennsylvania
Strohm attended public schools and taught school for several years, before moving to Providence, Pennsylvania. He served as a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, from 1831 to 1833. He served in the Pennsylvania State Senate from 1834 to 1842, serving as speaker in 1842. Strohm won election, as a Whig, to the U.S. House of Representatives, serving from 1845 to 1849. He worked as a surveyor and justice of the peace in Providence Township for several years. He served as a delegate to the Whig National Convention in 1852.
