Prophetstown was the name of a Shawnee village established in the Indiana Territory in 1808 by Tenskwatawa, brother of Tecumseh. Located at the confluence of the Tippecanoe and Wabash rivers, roughly seven miles north-northeast of Lafayette, Indiana, Prophetstown was the site of the Battle of Tippecanoe. U.S. forces led by General William H. Harrison razed the village on November 7, 1811.
