I. Abraham Lincoln, having been appointed by the Sangamon Circuit court to make a survey of a part of
the North half of the North East quarter of Section Five in Township Fifteen North
of Range Seven West of the Third Principal Meridian,2 in accordance with a bond filed in the above entitled cause,3 do hereby report, that I have made said survey, in accordance with said bond; and
find the land therein to contain Seventeen acres and Seventytwo hundredths of an acre; and to be bounded as follows, towit: Begining at the North West corner of said half quarter section; thence East Six chains and fortyfour links to a rock at a point intersecting a fence owned by Elkanah Butler in his lifetime, and being Thirtythree chains and fortynine links West of the North East corner of said half quarter; thence South two degrees West Twentynine chains and seventy links to the Southern boundary of said half quarter: thence West
Five chains and fortyone links to the South West corner of said half quarter; thence North Twentynine chains and sixtyfour links to the begining—
