AN ACT for the benefit of the Clerk of the Circuit and County Commissioner’s Court of La Salle County.

Authorized to keep his office at his place of residence.
Proviso.
Sec.[Section] 1. Be it enacted by the people of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly, That the Clerk of the circuit and county commissioners’ court of La Salle county, be, and he is hereby authorized and permitted to keep his office as clerk of said courts at his present residence, where said office is now kept, any law to the contrary notwithstanding: Provided, this act shall not be so construed as to authorize the said clerk to make any charge against said county for office rent.
This act to take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

1On January 8, 1835, John Hamlin in the House of Representatives presented the petition of the clerk of the county commissioners’ court of La Salle County, praying the passage of a law for purposes therein named. The House referred the petition to the Committee on Petitions. In response to this petition, John T. Stuart from the Committee on Petitions introduced HB 93 in the House on January 9. On January 12, the House referred it to a select committee. The select committee reported back the bill on January 13 with an amendment, in which the House concurred. The House passed the bill as amended on January 14. The Senate concurred on January 22. On January 27, the Council of Revision approved the bill and the act became law.
