Strike out all after the Enacting Clause and insert the following as a substitute, ^Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois represented in the General Assembly;^
That so much of the law Creating Perry County approved January 29th 1827, as astablishes the south East corner of said County at the south East corner of township six south of range one west is here by repealed.2
Section 2d That the Clerks of the County Commissioners Courts of the respective Counties in this State, may severally retain out any monies arising from the sale of lands for taxes in
said Counties the amount of the price, paid by them, for such books as the law requires
that they shall provide for the entry and record of such sales. And a receipt for
the same, forwarded to the Auditor of Public Accounts, shall be a good payment of taxes, to the amount expressed in such receipt.

1John Dougherty introduced HB 184, originally titled “A Bill for the Relief of Persons Therein Named,”
in the House of Representatives on January 29, 1835. On February 11, the House referred the bill to a select committee.
The select committee reported back the bill on February 12 with an amendment, in which
the House concurred. The House passed the bill as amended, afterward amending the
title to read “A Bill Supplemental to ‘An Act Changing the County Line Between Franklin and Perry Counties,’ and for Other Purposes.” The Senate rejected the bill on February 12.
