Sec[Section] 1^st Be it enacted by the people of the State of Illinois, Represented in the General Assembly,
That William Volingtine of Bond County and Joseph E. Evans of Montgomery County and Levi Gimline of Macoupin County be and they are hereby appointed Commissioners to view and lay out a road on the nearest and most eligible rout from Greenvill in Bond County, to Carlinsville in Macoupin County, to and cause a report of their proceedings to be lodged1 with the Clerks of the County-commissioners court of Bond[,] Macoupin[,] and Montgomery Counties, and the road where viewed and laid out as aforesaid shall be deemed a State Road,

Sec 2^nd As soon as said road shall be lad out as aforesaid the county commissioners Court of Bond[,] Macoupin[,] and Montgomery Counties, shall at their next session appoint supervisors in their respective Counties whose duty it shall be to open and keep in repair such part of said road as shall pass through their respective Counties,

Sec. 3^rd The county commissioners of Bond and Macoupin Counties shall allow to the said commissioners the sum of one dollar

per day, for every day actually employed in viewing[,] marking[,] and laying out said road,Provided that the County of Bond be required to pay two thirds of the expences and the County of Macoupin the other one third of said expences of laying out said road, and Provided further that said commissioners shall not be required to layout said road as herein required unless the county commissioners of Bond and Macoupin Counties shall first agree to pay them for their services.
