Sec.[Section] 1st Be it enacted by the people of the State of Illinois Represented in the General Assembly, That an extention of two yearss be and is hereby granted to Samuel Witter of the county of Marion in addition to the time now granted by “An Act, regulating Mills and Millers approved Februar[y] 9th 1827,2 for the completion of his mill on the South East quarter of the South West quarter of Section twenty three ^ Town one ^ north 3 of the base Line in Range four East of the third principal meredian on the Skillet fork of the Little Wabash River;4 the same having been condemned by a Jury of Inquest according to Law any thing in the 7th and 9th Section’s of the act to which this is an amendment to the contrary notwithstanding.5
This act to be in force from and, after its passage.

1Elijah S. Frazer introduced HB 78 in the House of Representatives on December 26, 1835. On January 1, 1836, the House amended the bill by inserting the words “Town one north.” The House passed the bill as amended. On January 16, the Senate tabled the bill.
