Resolved by this General Assembly that our Senators in Congress be instructed and our Representatives requested to use there exertions to procure [...?] an appropriation haveing for its object the establishment of a Hospital at or near the mouth of the Ohio River.2

1John S. Hacker introduced the resolution in the Senate on January 2, 1836, and the Senate tabled it. On January 12, the Senate adopted
it. The House of Representatives concurred on January 13. On January 15, the House and Senate delivered the resolution
to Governor Joseph Duncan for his signature. On February 1, Illinois Congressman John Reynolds presented the memorial to the U.S. House of Representatives, and on February 4, Senator William L. D. Ewing presented the memorial to the U.S. Senate. Both chambers referred the memorial to their Committee on Commerce.
