A Bill for “an act to Locate a state Road therein named and for other purposes.
Sec[Section] 1st Be it enacted by the people of the state of Illinois Represented in the General assembly That Nathaniel Wayne, John Shrader, & Joseph Wampler, of the County of Edgar be and they are hereby appointed Commissioners to view[,] mark[,] and locate a state road from Nathaniel Wayne[]s, in Edgar County, to Grandview, in said county.
Sec 2nd Said commissioners or a majority of them shall meet at the House of Nathaniel Wayne[]s, on the first Monday in April next or within one month thereafter and after having been first duly sworn before some Justice of the peace, faithfully to discharge the duties required of them by this act, shall proceed to View[,] mark[,] and locate said road beginning at or near the residence of the said Wayne[]s, and running thence on the best Ground and nearest rout to Grandview, having due reguard to the permanency of the road and the public conveniance.
Sec 3rd The said commissioners may employ One surveyor and two chain carriers and shall cause said road to be surveyed and a map of said survey shall be made out and returned to the clerk of the County Commissioners Court of Edgar County the plat of said road when so

returned shall make a part of the records of said Court.
sec 4th The commissioners shall mark the trees through the timber and set stakes in the Ground through the prarie on the location of said road.
sec 5th The county commissioners court of Edgar County shall allow to said Commissioners[,] surveyor[,] and chain carriers a reasonable Compesation for their services in the location and survey of said road to be paid out of the County Trasury, said road when located shall be a state road and opened and kept in repair as other states roads are required by law to be.
sec 6th The present traveled road leading from Grandview via [I?] Mouzye[]s, thence to Mr [Moffett?][]s, thence to R Gill[]s, thence to [sennetts ?]Mill, thence to R [Hanson?][]s, thence to [Wm?] Stephens[] thence to Elijah Wells[’s]; and from thence to the county line in a direction to Livingston c the cumberland road in clark county. be and the same is hereby declared a state road the same to be opened ^kept in repare^ as other state roads are provided the same shall not opened be opened more than thirty [...?] ^feet^ wide
