AN ACT for the purposes therein named.
1Whereas an act to which this is a supplement, passed at the present general assembly authorizing a special election to be held in the Appalonia district, for one additional justice of the peace and constable, and the time having
elapsed when said election should have been held under said act,2 therefore
Election of additional justices & constables
Sec.[Section] 1. Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly, That the clerk of the county commissioners court of Morgan county shall cause an election to be held in the town of Appalonia in the month of April next, for the election of one additional justice of the peace
and constable, who when elected shall be qualified to office, and hold their offices
as provided in the act to which this is a supplement.

1Newton Cloud introduced HB 228 in the House of Representatives on February 11, 1837. The House referred the bill to a select committee. The select
committee reported back the bill on February 21 with an amendment, in which the House
concurred. which reported it back with an amendment on February 21. On February 24,
the House passed the bill as amended. The Senate passed the bill on February 27. On March 2, the Council of Revision approved the bill, and the act became law.
