An act to amend an act to change the name of Watson James Filley approved 16th January 1837.
Sec. Whereas Matthew Cyrus presented his petition to the General Assembly at its last session stating that he had adopted Watson James Filley as a son and asking a change of the name of the said Filley to that of Cyrus, and also asking that said Filley be constituted one of the legal heirs of said Cyrus and to be thereby entitled to an equal distribution of his estate with the other children of said Cyrus, upon which petition an act was passed changing the name of said Filley, and said Cyrus has again petitioned that said Filley be declared one of his heirs as aforesaid Wherefore
Sec.[Section] 1. Be it enacted by the people of the State of Illinois represented in the General assembly. That the said Watson James Filley Cyrus shall be deemed and considered as one of the Heirs at law of the said Matthew Cyrus.
