An act to relocate a state road leading from Shelbyville to Springfield.
Sec.[Secretary] 1. Be it enacted by the people of the State of Illinois represented in the General Assembly. That Lemuel Moseley, James Goodin and John Tocket of Shelby County are appointed Commissioners to relocate so much of the old State road that is now
in the County of Shelby and is used as a State road to Springfield from Shelbyville in Shelby County.
Sec. 2. Said Commissioners shall meet in the Town of Shelbyville on or before the twenty fifth day of December next and shall then be duly sworn
and shall proceed to run out said road and make such Alterations as they shall believe
is necessary for the Convenience of the present, on the old route so as not materially
injure them.
Sec. 3. Said Commissioners shall be bound to run said road to where it now meets the Sangamon
line of Sangamon County, and said Commissioners shall have Chain Carriers and Surveyors that may be necessary
to Complete said road and other necessary hands.
Sec. 4. Said Commissioners shall make out a correct Statement of all their proceedings
and make return to the County Commissioners Court of Shelby County, and said Court shall allow them such Compensation as may be justly due them for their services
Sec. 5 And said Court shall cause all necessary work to be done in such alterations as said Commissioners
may have made on said route.
Sec. 6 The said Commissioners shall have until the twentieth day of December next to complete
said road and make their return.
