Sec[Section] 1 Be it ena[cted by the] people [?] of Illinois, represented [in the General Assembly] That the town of Leesburg [in the county of Montgomery], which has [been laid off agreeably to law] and a plat th[ereof recorded pursuant to statute] in such [cases, shall be, and the same] is hereby changed [to that of Zanesville; by which] latter name it [shall be known and called in] all public records [and documents; and in all] legal transactions [where] it shall [be necessary] to name said town [or place, the name of Zanesville] shall be used; [Provided, how]ever, that [the] change of the na[me of said] town [shall in no] wise affect [any contracts or conveyances] heretofore made [or entered into, or any other legal transaction or business whatever.]
[Sec. 2.] This act [to take effect and be in force from] and after [its passage.]
