To the Honorable the senate and House of Representives, now in Vandalia session at Vandalia. We your Humble petioners, citizens of the state of Illinois, respectfully wish to represent to your Honorable body that, David Harper Mills late of Bond County and state aforesaid died ceased[seized] of certain real estate (to wit) the North east quarter of the North West quarter of section no Nine in Township four north of Range four West of the Third principal meridian, containing forty acres,. Also leaving one infant Heir by the name of George S. Mills now about six years of age, and Whereas said real estate ^has ^ valuable improvements which are fast decaying, and it is believed going to wast[waste], and will in the course of a few years be so much out of repair as to be render useless said premises, and as their is no timber belonging to said lands, the improvements cannot be repaired at a cost within the means of the estate and concequntly said ^estate^ will be of much less vallue whin said Heir should become of age than the the amount it would bring at this ^time^ together with the amount of interest it would accumulate
Now therefore, all your Humble petioners would respectfuly sugjest to your Honorable body the propriety of an acting a law, autherizing the guardians to sell said real estate on a credit of one or two years and that the same ^amount^ be loned out for the best interest can be get for the same, until said Heir is of proper ^lawful^ age to be and that so much of the interest as is necessary be applyed to wards the education of said Heir. and for which your petioners will ever pray. This 1st Jan. 1839.
