AN ACT to revive an act, entitled “An act to incorporate the stockholders of the Randolph Manufacturing Company,” approved January 16, 1836.

Act revived.
Proviso.
Sec.[Section] 1. Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly, That the act, entitled “An act to incorporate the stockholders of the Randolph Manufacturing Company,” approved January 16, 1836, be, and the same is hereby, revived, with all the rights, privileges, and advantages in the said act contained; Provided, That, if the said company shall not have been organized under said act hereby revived, and the works located, and business commenced, within two years from the first day of July next, this act shall be void and of no effect.
Lots in city of Cairo.
Sec. 2. That nothing contained in the act, entitled “An act to incorporate the Cairo City and Canal Company,” approved March 4, 1836, shall be so construed as to prevent the said company from selling lots situate in the city of Cairo under the provisions of the act of the Legislative Council and House of Representatives of the Illinois Territory, incorporating the City and Bank of Cairo, approved January 9, 1818; and it shall be lawful for them to do so in the manner and for

the uses and purposes in the last named act specified; and any one of the commissioners appointed in and by said territorial act is hereby authorized to consent to any sale or disposition which the proprietors of the city of Cairo have or may make of said city, or the land on which said city was located.

1On February 19, 1839, Edmund Menard introduced HB 330 in the House. On February 23, the House passed the bill without amendment, and referred it to the Senate. On February 25, following the addition of a second section by John S. Hacker, the Senate too passed the bill. On March 1, the House agreed with the Senate amendments. On March 2, theCouncil of Revision approved the bill, and the act became law.
